The True Story of Black Hawk Down;

It's important to understand what happend in Somalia in the early 90's. The events of Somalia are the main reason for the lack of American intervention in Rwanda. Somalia is the most dangerous country on the face of the planet. It is a country that has lacked any government for over a decade. These people are under educated, under fed, over stimulated, over armed and severly traumatized.

Today the UIC has gained control over most of Somalia, implementing some sort of rule of law. I have little faith this will last. As differences arise within the UIC, perhaps between Islamic hard-liners and more moderate voices within the militia they will settle their differences as they have for a long time, with guns. The only hope for Somalia is a brutal strong armed dictatorship. I hope the Islamic hard-liners dominate the country in the same way the Taliban dominated and pacified Afghanistan during the 90's. Although they may implement a draconian rule of law Somalia is not a nation ready for dialogue. They need a brutal and powerful dictator to terrorize and pacify the different warring factions. If the UIC can't consolidate their hold on Somalia, I fear the Somali's will face many more years of lawless anarchy.

I've got one more comment to make. I hate, absolutely hate, when first world musicians say things like "fuck the police". You hear it all the time in the mainstream music industry, they glorify violance and violant disregard for the law in their music. Fuck them. Let's see how well they do without any law. We live in the richest, safest nations on the face of the earth and we have assholes like 50 cent posing with tiny hand guns, pretending to be "hardcore". I have a hard time beleaving he could glorify violence if he had grown up in Somalia. The worst ghettos in NYC are safe havens compared to Somalia.

Make it Plain; Louis meets the black supremists

Here's a look at black power groups in the united states. The first video is a look at the life and times of Malcolm X. The second video is a Louis Theroux video (think Louis and the Nazi's) looking at black supremist groups in the united states.

Racial issues in the united states are still fresh. Simply changing laws in the 1960's can't over night change 400 years of state sponsored racism and slavery, however I don't beleave that these groups help anything at this point. In the 60's the likes of Malcolm X where expressing a rage within the black community that stemmed from state sponsored racism, and they helped to wake the white community. However at this point, when the racism doesn't exist in the law books the answer is not militant action. The black community in the united states suffers from the legacy of institutionalized racism however more racism, more violance is not the answer.
